An engineering house that thinks like an operator.

BOOTSKINS LTD was founded to prove that serious IT work does not require the overhead of a large consultancy — just the right engineers, an honest process and a bias for shipping.

Our Story

From a two-person practice to a 40-engineer firm.

BOOTSKINS LTD started with two engineers frustrated by the mismatch between what enterprise consultancies charged and what their clients actually received. We built the company around the opposite principle: put senior people on the problem, price the outcome and take responsibility when things go wrong.

Nine years later, the firm has grown quietly through referrals. Our clients range from Series A startups shipping their first production system to mid-market companies modernising the software that runs their business.

Principles

What we believe about building software.

  • Simple beats clever

The most valuable systems we ship are the ones the next team can understand without us.

  • Write it down

Architecture decisions, runbooks and post-mortems belong in the repository, not in someone's head.

  • Own the outcome

We measure ourselves against the result our client wanted — not the hours we billed.

  • Security is a baseline

It is not a phase, an add-on or someone else's job.

  • Small teams, short cycles

Four engineers reviewing each other beat twelve who never read the same file.

  • Say no when needed

The most useful thing a partner can do is refuse the work that will hurt you later.

Culture

The kind of company we wanted to work at.

Long tenures, calm operations, no heroics. BOOTSKINS LTD engineers are paid to think clearly, not to sprint. We invest in tooling, quiet time and craft — because that is what the work rewards.
